Interview met Augustin Edveş, Senior SAP Basis consultant at Yonder

I was hired by Yonder to work for PinkRoccade Local Government on September 2010, and from that moment I had the opportunity to work in a unique and challenging SAP technological standard environment at PinkRoccade Healthcare & Local Government.

I studied Mathematics and Computer Science at “Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara”.
I was a teacher at Mathematics & Computer Science at a high school. After that, I was a senior software developer at Electrica in Romania, for a good period. Here I had my first SAP contact. Together with the IBM Romania team, I did my first SAP implementation. The following company I worked for was SIEMENS. They allowed me to interact with the “good world of SAP”. I had the opportunity to work and travel to Vienna and work for the biggest customers in the world, like Coca-Cola. A disadvantage working at SIEMENS was that my family was far away. I am married and I have a son. Since I work for PinkRoccade, I brought my family together in Cluj-Napoca, where I live now.

The biggest challenge, in my career, was when I was delegated by my former employer SIEMENS.
I was assigned to implement a very complex SAP system for the Ministry of Health in Romania. We used a very complex architecture: High Availability for HP-Unix with DB2 with the Enqueue Replication Server configuration. This installation was a challenge for SIEMENS also.

I like to be in touch with customers, to try to understand their needs or requirements they need in their job. I like to receive more information about them when I work for them. Things that interest me is the location of the municipality for example, so I can see the architecture of the building and other specific details about it.

I’m very proud of my son, Andrei-Rareș.
Although we are a family that’s IT oriented, especially in SAP, Andrei-Rareș has chosen to be a doctor. He is studying Medicine at the moment. Something I like to do in the future: cruises in the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Caribbean.
